CORNING, NY, August 4, 2008 –United Way of the Southern Tier recently received a donation towards its upcoming 2008 Community Campaign.
The Market Street branch of M&T Bank, strong supporters of United Way's mission to improve lives, presented the agency with a $1,250 corporate gift. Karen Sears, M&T assistant vice-president & Market Street branch manager presented a check to Steve Hughes, vice-president of Resource Development for United Way.
United Way of the Southern Tier's annual community campaign officially kicks off in September. The money raised during the campaign is invested in local programs that work to address the underlying causes of problems within the community and create long-lasting change.
