Corning Hospital holds United Way Fundraiser

CORNING, NY, August 15, 2008 – Corning Hospital will hold a Farmer’s Market Wednesday to raise money for United Way of the Southern Tier.

 

The event, part of United Way’s annual campaign, will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Medical Arts Lawn behind the hospital on Denison Parkway. 

 

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., PDR’s catering will provide a Chicken BBQ. Booths at the Market include Hershey’s Ice Cream, flowers, BINGO, baked goods, lemonade, fruits and vegetables, stuffed animals, and more.

 

Proceeds from the event will go to United Way of the Southern Tier’s annual community campaign which officially kicks off in September.  The money raised during the campaign is invested in local programs that work to address the underlying causes of problems within the community and create long-lasting change.
