United Way of the Southern Tier invests over $2.3M in 70 local programs

Sept. 16, 2024:

United Way of the Southern Tier is proud to announce it is investing more than $2.3 million in 70 local nonprofit programs in 2024-2025.

“Because of United Way donors, children will be better prepared to start school and finish strong, senior citizens will be able to age safely in their homes, and people facing crisis will have the support they need,” said United Way of the Southern Tier President & CEO Stephen M. Hughes.

Each year, more than 6,000 caring people in Chemung and Steuben counties, including individuals, employees of area businesses, and corporate partners, give generously to United Way of the Southern Tier to create a thriving community.

“We are grateful for the generosity and support of our donors,” said United Way Board Chair David Walker, First Heritage Federal Credit Union Senior Vice President. “Your support and contributions fuel our mission and allow United Way to make a meaningful impact for our community.”
