United Way of the Southern Tier is pleased to announce Maleaha R. Smith has been promoted to Vice President, Business Systems and Operations.

“Maleaha will help lead United Way of the Southern Tier into a future that is more digitally-focused and meets the needs of our community as well as the expectations of the next generation of donors,” said Stephen M. Hughes, CEO & President of United Way of the Southern Tier.  

Smith will be responsible for data systems and operational management in support of effectively meeting the mission and objectives of United Way of the Southern Tier.

Smith rejoined United Way of the Southern Tier as Director of Business Integration Management Services in 2019. She previously worked at United Way as Manager of Mobilization, Engagement, and Marketing. She holds degrees in business marketing and psychology.

Smith’s previous employment includes the Corning Area Chamber of Commerce and the Institute for Human Services, Inc. in Bath. She has also worked with several local nonprofit organizations, providing consulting services.

Smith resides in Steuben County with her husband and three children.
