Support Dolly Parton's Imagination Library during FLX Gives
Nov. 1, 2022:
You can spark the joy of learning and instill a love of reading in children in Chemung and Steuben counties during FLX Gives by supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Each month, United Way of the Southern Tier’s chapter of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library mails a new, high-quality, age-appropriate book to more than 4,500 young children in Chemung and Steuben counties. This program is open to all children under the age of 5 in these two counties and is provided at no cost to families.
You can support this worthwhile effort by making a donation between the hours of 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, through 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, on the FLX Gives online giving platform.
Although Dolly Parton is the champion for this popular worldwide initiative, the famed icon does not provide funding for the program. Her relationship with book publishers and distributers keeps costs low, and donations to United Way of the Southern Tier pay for the local program. Families are never charged for the books.
In addition to a personal gift, you can also support this FLX Gives drive by becoming a fundraising champion for Imagination Library, reaching out to your friends and family, inviting them to join you in your support. Click “Fundraise” on the giving site to become a Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Giving Champion.
